Product Summary

When Browning Hi-Power went into production in 1935 it was a breakthrough in firearms technology. It was the first pistol to offer the high capacity firepower of a staggered double-column magazine. It also was incredibly accurate and reliable. Today, more that 60 years later, those same attributes make it one of the most sought after defensive pistols in production.

The Hi-Power Standard (Fixed Sights) model has a polished blued finish and selected walnut grips, which are finely cut-checkered to give you a more positive grip.

PROVEN RELIABILITY – Disassemble a Hi-Power and you'll see it's missing something, a lot of unnecessary parts. Its beauty lies in it simplicity. Because of its simple, reliable design, it effortlessly cycles almost every 9mm cartridge made. The genius of the Hip-Power's design manifests itself in every Centerfire semi-automatic on the market – they all contain features pioneered by the Hi-Power.

SUPERIOR ERGONOMICS – Nothing points or handles like a Hi-Power, just pick one up and point it. It feels like a natural extension of your body. The sights naturally design without adjusting your wrist. The slender grip fits comfortable, even in smaller hands. It has that crisp; precise trigger only a single action can give you. These features don't just make the Hi-Power a pistol that shoots well; they make it a pistol that you can shoot well and trust.

Caliber Dictionary

The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
The 9mm Luger (9X19mm, Parabellum, P08) was developed in Germany in 1902. Widely used in both world wars, it is the most popular pistol cartridge in the world, now widely used by innumerable law enforcement agencies and militaries (including our own) in both pistols and submachineguns. The controversy over its "stopping power" will never go away, but its attribute is that it is much easier to shoot accurately than larger cartridges with greater power...but more recoil. Advancements in bullet design for law enforcement and personal defense have narrowed the gap considerably. The 9mm Luger is a world standard, chambered by virtually all makers of semiautomatic pistols, with a myriad of factory loads. The most standard is probably a 115-grain load at 1160 fps, with common bullet weights ranging from 95 to 147 grains, and +P loads at higher velocity.  — Craig Boddington
