HSM BER3006168VL Trophy Gold 30-06 Springfield BTHP 168 GR 20 Rds

HSM teamed with Berger to create their exclusive line of Trophy Gold rifleammunition, loaded with Berger's premium match grade VLD (Very Low Drag)hunting bullets, offering a load for small, medium and large sized game.Previously only available to those who hand loaded, Berger's VLD huntingbullets have the highest possible ballistic coefficient, which are designedfor shots in excess of 300 yards while maintaining excellent close rangeperformance. The VLD's design incorporates a sharp hollow point nose, engineered to penetrate between 2" and 3" before expansion begins. Afterinitial expansion, the bullet sheds 40% to 85% of its weight, as shrapnel, into surrounding tissue and organs, creating a devastating wound channeland causing the vast majority of the bullet's energy and hydrostatic shockto be expended throughout the mass of the target animal. The resultingterminal performance and overwhelming knockdown power ensure a quick andhumane harvest.

Caliber Dictionary

The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
Properly "Caliber 30 Model of 1906," the 30-06 was developed at Springfield Armory for the 1903 Springfield rifle. The original 1903 cartridge, though very similar, used a round-nosed 220-grain bullet; the 1906 version used a 150-grain spitzer bullet with a slightly shorter case neck and case length of 2.494-inches. The 30-06, in Springfield, 1917 Enfield, and M1 Garand rifles, remained America's service cartridge through the Korean War. It was the most powerful cartridge ever adopted by a major military, and over time became America's most popular hunting cartridge. Today there are many good choices, but the 30-06 remains extremely popular throughout the world, suited for most North American big game and equally effective for African plains game. The most common standard loads today feature: 150-grain bullet at 2910 feet per second; 165-grain bullet at 2800 fps; and 180-grain bullet at 2700 fps. Choices in both rifles and ammunition are almost limitless.  — Craig Boddington
