The 1851 Navy revolver, produced from 1851 to 1872, was the most famous model of the cap-and-ball era for good reasons. This 6-shot offers perfect balance, precise aim, and functional dependability. This Navy model features an octagonal barrel, case hardened steel frame, brass backstrap and triggerguard, checkered and oil finish Navy size grip, and a rebated roll-engraved cylinder.

A conversion cylinder is available for this model that is a drop-in conversion to smokeless .45LC/.45Schofield ammunition.

First things first, top notch shopping experience. I am new to black powder guns and did a lot of shopping. Your site was well made and easy to navigate. Shipping was very quick and the item arrived before the estimated date. Now about the gun. I love this thing. It has a nice weight to it and is easily disassembled for cleaning. I am a big guy with big hands so the grip is on the small side, but fairly comfortable. The action is smooth and it is easy to load. First time I had the chance to shoot, I was shooting in groups of about 8 inches at about 12 yards. I am not a great shooter and my eyesight past arms length is questionable so that is good for me. So the accuracy seems good to me. I opted for the steel frame because I may choose to get a conversion cylinder in the future. I like guns with options. Overall I am very pleased with the gun and the shopping experience.
