This particular Builder Series AR-15 Buffer Tube is billet machined from 6061-T6 aluminum which provides you with tighter concentricity versus other manufacturer's buffer tubes. Forged or impact extrusion tubes can increase the potential for the bolt carrier to bind up which would be a critical failure of the buffer tube. The tube features a 5 position setting with 1 fully collapsed and 4 other positions. Additionally this tube is designed to be compatible with Mil-Spec diameter buffer tubes which measure out to 1.148" diameter. Moreover this buffer tube is designed in order to self align with the buffer detent and features an overall weight of 3.6oz for the buffer tube itself.
