The Ruger® Security-9® Compact Semi-Auto Pistol conceals easily and carries well. The Security-9 Compact operates with the same Secure Action used in the LCP II®, which provides a smooth trigger pull with an internal hammer; the trigger pull feels short and crisp with a positive reset. An added benefit of the Secure Action system is that it's easier to rack the slide, compared to a similar size striker-fired pistol. The pistol's frame is constructed with glass-filled nylon with a precision machined, hard-coat, aluminum chassis that contacts the slide with full-length guide rails. The slide is made of through-hardened alloy steel and blued; front and rear serrations provide a non-slip hold while loading or clearing the weapon. Front and rear sights are dovetailed to the slide, and drift adjustable. Sharp edges have been chamfered to aid in concealment, drawing the pistol and holstering. The Security-9 Compact Semi-Auto Pistol comes equipped with a trigger safety and a manual thumb safety. The slide stop serves as the takedown pin to easily fieldstrip the pistol for cleaning. Ships with 2 magazines, and 1 finger grip extension floorplate. Made in USA.

Caliber Dictionary
The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
The 9mm Luger (9X19mm, Parabellum, P08) was developed in Germany in 1902. Widely used in both world wars, it is the most popular pistol cartridge in the world, now widely used by innumerable law enforcement agencies and militaries (including our own) in both pistols and submachineguns. The controversy over its "stopping power" will never go away, but its attribute is that it is much easier to shoot accurately than larger cartridges with greater power...but more recoil. Advancements in bullet design for law enforcement and personal defense have narrowed the gap considerably. The 9mm Luger is a world standard, chambered by virtually all makers of semiautomatic pistols, with a myriad of factory loads. The most standard is probably a 115-grain load at 1160 fps, with common bullet weights ranging from 95 to 147 grains, and +P loads at higher velocity. — Craig Boddington
