Before handling any firearm, ensure that it is unloaded and the chamber is clear. Follow proper safety procedures.
Remove the Magazine :
Remove the magazine from the pistol.
Check Chamber :
Visually and physically check the chamber to ensure that the gun is unloaded.
Retract the Slide :
Pull the slide back and lock it in the open position.
Rotate the Takedown Lever :
Rotate the takedown lever, which is located on the left side of the frame, downward to the 6 o'clock position.
Remove the Slide :
While holding the slide locked open, push down on the disassembly latch located on the right side of the frame. This will allow you to remove the slide.
Access the Backstrap :
With the slide removed, you'll have access to the backstrap. Note that the PX4 Storm may have a two-piece backstrap design.
Remove the Backstrap :
On some models, you may need to use a tool (such as a small punch or similar object) to push a pin out and remove the backstrap. On others, it may simply slide off.
Replace with Desired Backstrap :
Select the desired backstrap size (small, medium, or large) and slide it into place. Make sure it is fully seated.
Reassemble :
Reverse the disassembly process to reassemble the pistol.
