One of the hottest contenders in the personal defense caliber market, 5.7x28mm has won favor with shooters all over the world, and for good reason. This cartridge was designed to provide rifle caliber-like ballistics with less recoil than most pistol caliber carbines. If you like the modularity potential of the AR15 platform you’re in luck, this BANSHEE is built on our Mk4 – AR15 platform which uses a standard AR15 lower receiver and our new and improved 5.7x28mm AR conversion mags, which means no need for a propriety lower.
Available in a variety of Cerakote finish options, the BANSHEE series represents the most innovative AR pistols and SBRs available today. From the stylized receivers and EML™ handguards, every BANSHEE is tailor-made to be the personal defense weapon you can always depend on. With full-length M-LOK® slots on both sides and the bottom of the handguard as well as M-LOK between the top Picatinny rail sections, you’ll always have enough space for those must-have accessories.

The 5.7X28mm was introduced by FN in 1993, developed for a new concept called Personal Defense Weapon (PDW), intended to replace the pistol, submachinegun, and carbine for miliitary use. The concept is a compact, selective fire weapon intended for use within 200 meters, firing a light projectile for controllable recoil. The 5.7X28mm was designed for FN's P90 PDW. It uses a short bottlenecked case firing a 31-grain .224-inch bullet at 2325 fps. Performance exceeds military handgun cartridge, especially as range increases. Although many experts find the concept sound acceptance by the military has not been rapid. — Craig Boddington
