Newest Soft Point 7mm Remington Ultra Magnum Rifle Ammo

Introduced in 2000, the 7mm Remington Ultra Magnum (RUM) is the fastest 7mm commercial cartridge. Based on the fat, unbelted 404 Jeffery case, it is a full-length magnum (2.850-inch) case requiring a 375 H&H-length action. The 7mm RUM averages about 200 fps faster than the 7mm Remington Magnum with all bullet weights; and about 100 fps faster than the 7mm Shooting Times Westerner. It is thus extremely flat-shooting, but with less considerably less recoil than a .30-caliber with similar velocity. Perhaps surprisingly, the 7mm RUM has not become popular and is currently offered primarily by Remington in both rifles and ammunition.
