Newest Lead 475 Linebaugh 50rd boxes of Handgun Ammo
The 475 Linebaugh was developed by John Linebaugh and introduced by Ross Seyfried in Guns & Ammo in 1988. Though now surpassed by S&W's 460 and 500 S&W Magnums, for some years the 475 Linebaugh was a contender as the most powerful revolver cartridge. It is based on the 45-70 case shortened to 1.5 inches, using a .475-inch bullet. Buffalo Bore offers factory ammunition, with bullet weights from 350 to 440 grains. Velocity with a 350-grain bullet is about 1500 feet per second, developing 1745 foot-pounds of energy. Although it is not the most powerful, the 475 LInebaugh is a very powerful revolver cartridge, well-suited to hunting extremely large game at close range.
