It has the complete X-Bolt package: crisp Feather Trigger with no take-up or creep, preferred by experienced hunters, a center-fed Rotary magazine, X-Lock System and a soft Inflex recoil pad — every feature combines to make this X-Bolt rifle ideal for hunting deer and elk to varmints. The high-grade Walnut stock with detailed checkering provides classic good looks.
The X-Bolt is free-floated by bedding the front and rear of the action for stability and to help maintain barrel to stock spacing for consistent accuracy. A recessed muzzle crown helps protect the rifling from damage.

X-Lock scope mounts feature an all new four screw per base design that replaces the traditional two screw system. The benefits are obvious, with the bases being secured at all four corners.
This recoil pad has proprietary construction and material to promote a directional deflection of recoil forces, pulling the stock comb away from your face to reduce felt recoil and muzzle climb.
The bolt unlock button works in conjunction with the top-tang safety to provide an added measure of safety during checking and unloading of the chamber

The 25-06 Remington, introduced in 1969, is another Remington cartridge that had a long history as a wildcat cartridge. Based on the 30-06 case necked down to accept a .257-inch bullet, it is credited to A.O. Neidner in 1920, and Remington retained Neidner's original design. Remington's standardization of this long-popular wildcat was met with open arms; the 25-06 has become the most popular 25-caliber cartridge, fast and accurate with a fine selection of loads. Velocities range from a light 85-grain varmint load at 3550 feet per second to a 120-grain load at 2990. With heavier bullets the 25-06 is used for game up to elk, but it is perhaps at its best for pronghorn and deer-sized game in open country, where its flat trajectory shines. Most major ammunition manufacturers offer a selection of 25-06 loads and rifles are available from numerous manufacturers.
