The R.E.P.R. rifle utilizes our patented self-regulating, short-stroke gas-piston operating system, ensuring unparalleled reliability in the harshest theaters of operation. A side-mounted charging handle allows the shooter to perform reloads without removing their eyes from the target, and prevents any gas blowback to the face when using a suppressor. The ARM-R rails are easily removable and reinstalled with a hex key and provide a 100 percent return to zero for optics and lasers.
LWRCI has engineered a complete solution to the deficits found in the direct impingement M16/AR15/M4 family of rifles and carbines. The principal improvement comes from the incorporation of our patented self-regulating short-stroke gas-piston system. This system eliminates the venting of hot, carbon-laden gases into the receiver and bolt carrier group, thus eliminating the intensive cleaning regime of the legacy rifle. It also means the bolt carrier group and associated springs are not subjected to the searing heat of the tapped gasses, this being one of the major causes of small parts failure. This translates into carbines that are far more reliable than the legacy direct impingement carbines regardless of user maintenance.
Another benefit of our short-stroke gas-piston system is the improved handling characteristics of our weapons over the direct impingement legacy weapons. Recoil is lighter and muzzle rise is greatly reduced. Amazingly, this is accomplished in a carbine that is ergonomically identical, weighs almost the same, and retains 80% parts commonality with the legacy direct impingement carbine.
But our revolutionary short-stroke gas-piston system is only one of the improvements we've made in the legacy carbine. LWRCI rifles and carbines utilize cold hammer forged barrels made out of 41V45 steel alloy and treated with NiCorr surface conversion technology. Cold hammer forging takes an oversized barrel blank, and using high pressure rotary hammers, compacts the barrel blank over a mandrel. This forms perfect rifling devoid of tool marks. It also compacts the molecular structure of the metal making it denser and stronger. These barrels can take a lot more use and abuse than a standard barrel before any degradation in accuracy or loss of velocity. NiCorr surface conversion has proved more lubricious, harder wearing, more heat and corrosion resistant than the hard chrome normally used in the bore. Our barrels can handle 20,000 rounds before replacement, as compared to 6,000-10,000 rounds on a standard M4.
The bolt carriers of all LWRC rifles are now coated with a proprietary nickel coating that nearly eliminates corrosion while providing greatly increased lubricity. This coating provides permanent lubrication to the moving parts. This nickel coating is similar to that being used by the US Army Research Lab and USSOCOM to extend the service life of their weapons systems.
The unique LWRCI Rapid Engagement Precision Rifle (R.E.P.R.) is a full spectrum weapon system designed to put devastating 7.62mm NATO rounds on target in a variety of roles. The R.E.P.R. rifle allows a marksman to perform assaulter duty with the 12 inch barreled upper installed, and quickly switch to a sniper role simply by changing to the 20 inch barreled upper. The extra upper receiver assembly can be carried in a backpack and takes up less room and weighs less than carrying a separate rifle.

The 7.62X51mm NATO cartridge was adopted by the U.S. in the M14 rifle in 1957. NATO adopted it in the same year, but in other platforms. The 7.62X51mm is essentially a shortened 30-06 case, allowing a more compact action and more compact ammunition at very minor cost in performance. A side benefit--which might not have been anticipated--is improved accuracy because of the greater efficiency of the shorter case. Although 7.62X51mm has been largely supplanted by the 5.56X45mm NATO cartridge in service rifles, it is still widely used by militaries around the world and remains a primary cartridge for light and medium machineguns. Due to its exceptional accuracy it is also a very common cartridge for military sniping at ranges to a bit beyond 1000 yards. The civilian version, the 308 Winchester, was introduced in 1952 while the 7.62X51MM was still in the experimental stages.
