By combining a Wharncliffe blade with dual finger choils the Spyderco Kiwi Slipjoint combines traditional aspects of a slipjoint with the futuristic features. Kiwi's stainless handle is contoured and chamfered for pinch-free cutting. The first choil near the edge envelopes the index finger and the second choil positions the middle finger. Above the Spyderco round hole sits a spine cusp, making a slip-resistant site for thumb or index finger placement. Classified as a non-locking folder, the Kiwi has a slip-joint pivot that generates resistance to closing, keeping the blade safely open when used. The handle is clipless with a lanyard hole for a carry option.
