9.3X74R SXS double rifle with single trigger and ejectors.

The 9.3X74R is legal in most African countries for dangerous game hunting where .375 H&H are legal. The 9.3 comes close to the ballistic performance of the .375 H&H and is a European favorite.

A spare 20ga barrel can be ordered for this gun at any time. Spare barrels are so precise that they do not require fitting and can be ordered years after the gun was manufactured.

As every gun lover knows, the manufacturing process of Express guns is still very delicate, complicated and mostly carried out by hand; this is the reason why F.A.I.R.® employs and contracts specialized technicians and workers with long experience in rifled guns.

Construction is based on 20 ga. Action bodies. The SAFARI models are reliable, elegant and easy to handle, thanks to their light weight of approximately 3 kilos. An accurate barrel shooting convergence is extremely important for all SAFARI models. The barrel is aligned by hand in our shooting tunnel; acceptance testing requires two shots to be fired per each barrel within a diameter of 50 mm, from a distance of approximately 50 meters. An important additional feature of SAFARI models is the optional pair of interchangeable smooth-bore 20 ga. Barrels. Valuable finishing enhances the DE LUXE and PRESTIGE models, with their Bavarian-style extra-quality stocks and the Safari FXW with a walnut FX-WOOD stock .

The 9.3X74R was developed in Germany in about 1900. A rimmed cartridge intended for use in double rifles and single-shots, the 9.3X74R has a long, slender case of 2.9409 inches. In Europe it has long been a standard cartridge in lightweight doubles, both side-by-side and over/under. With a 286-grain bullet at 2360 fps it is a powerful cartridge that is popular for driven boar hunting. It makes the legal minimum for dangerous game in most African jurisdictions, and although extremely minimal for elephant it is adequate for Cape buffalo. Performance of the 9.3X74R is identical to the 9.3X62mm, and both cartridges are now readily available in the U.S. — Craig Boddington
