Machined from 8620 steel with a black oxide finish and heat treated for a life of hard use, the Manticore Arms NightBrake muzzle compensator is designed specifically for the 24mm thread found on the muzzle of most AK-74 rifles. The NightBrake is specifically designed to provide recoil reduction and virtually eliminate muzzle rise while being almost an inch shorter than any other muzzle compensator currently offered. A total of eighteen ports distributed around the upper 270 degrees of the device help stabilize and reduce exiting gas pressure. There are no ports facing directly upwards to allow for an uninterrupted sight picture when firing, and the lower 90 degree arc has no ports to prevent a dust signature when fired. The NightBrake muzzle compensator is 2.5 inches long with a weight of 3.2 ounces and is engraved MANTICORE to denote it as a U.S. made part that counts towards 922r compliance. As with all our 24mm muzzle devices, the NightBrake can safely be used with rifles with projectiles up to 0.311 (7.62mm) in diameter
