Honoring John Moses Browning's Development of the M1911 .45 Browning has released the 1911-22 Black Label Compact. The original 1911 platform has been scaled down as a single action straight blow back operated firearm that is 85 percent of the original. The results have been astounding! This redesign accommodates the much smaller .22 Long Rifle cartridge with flawless performance. The controls operate the same as the original design in an extremely accurate firearm that is prefect for plinking or teaching new shooters. Its smaller size is ideal for small hands and yet the textured composite grip panels retain a size comfortable enough for larger hands as well. In traditional Browning craftsmanship the 1911-22 Black Label features a machined aluminum slide with a matt grey finish and an extremely accurate steel barrel. It has a solidly constructed black composite polymer frame with the familiar thumb safety and a beaver tail grip safety. It comes with a reliable 10 round steel magazine and the magazine release is still positioned in the same comfortable location adjacent to the trigger guard. The Browning 1911-22 Black Label Compact is a must have firearm for any shooters collection and an even better choice as a first time firearm purchase.

The 22 Long Rifle is the world's most popular cartridge, with annual production well into the billions of rounds. Developed in 1887 for blackpowder, it has been loaded with smokeless powder since the 1890s. The 22 Long Rifle is a rimfire cartridge using the .613-inch case developed for the 22 Long, but standard is a heavier 40-grain bullet at 1180 feet per second. .22 Long Rifle ammunition is widely manufactured and varies tremendously, from sub-sonic and match ammunition at lower velocities to lighter bullets at higher velocities, all the way to a 30-grain bullet at 1700 feet per second. With low report, almost no recoil, and superb accuracy the 22 Long Rifle has no equal for short-range target shooting, plinking, and training in both rifle and pistol; and with high velocity hollow-point ammunition is extremely effective for small game and pests out to perhaps 75 yards.
