Deer Season ammunition combines Winchester's extensive experience into a product engineered specifically for deer hunters. The Deer Season slug utilizes a rear stabilized wad that travels downrange with the slug to improve accuracy through all shotguns. Improved accuracy means clean kills, extreme knockdown, and blood trails measured in feet ... not yards.

Not all deer hunters tote rifles during general firearms seasons as evidenced by a number of states and localities restricted to shotgun use only. Now those hunters can benefit from the same high-performance ammunition with a new Deer Season Slug.
The new 12-gauge slug is created for those slug gun hunters who shoot through smooth-bore barrels and features a 1¼-ounce slug combined with a unique stabilizing wad that inserts through the slug to form a dome-shaped tip. The slug and wad travel as one downrange providing better accuracy than traditional rifled foster slugs. Upon impact the slug and wad separate depositing all of the slug's energy into the vitals of the deer for maximum terminal performance.
