Product Summary

The Winchester 1892 Large Loop Carbine is a classic lever action rifle made famous by old westerns on TV and the Big Screen. But in real life this rifle was a work horse that's just as functional and practical today as it was on the prairies of the Old West! This rifle is a favorite of many farmers, ranchers, cowboys and shooters, because the 1892 Carbine is fast to the shoulder, quick on the swing, lightweight and a pleasure to shoot. It features a compact 20" round sporter barrel and a straight grip grade I walnut stock with a satin finish. The large loop provides ample room for gloved hands and a quick action for follow-up shots. It has an adjustable rear sight and a Marble Arms brass bead front sight. It comes with a rebounding hammer for an extra margin of safety. The Model 1892 Large Loop Carbine is an excellent choice for a ranch gun, hunting in heavy cover or even Cowboy Action Shooting competitions. Every shooter should have a good lever action in their collection, but with the Winchester Model 1892 Large Loop Carbine, you have a great lever action in yours!

Caliber Dictionary

The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
The 357 Magnum was introduced by Smith & Wesson in 1935 and initially chambered in their heavy-frame double-action revolver, the 357 was the first "magnum" handgun. Based on the 38 Special case lengthened to 1.29 inches, it was the world's most powerful handgun cartridge until the 44 Magnum. Offering considerably more power and penetration than the 38 Special, it was standard among many law enforcement agencies for decades. It is still widely manufactured in double- and single-action revolvers (and some rifles), available from virtually all revolver manufacturers; and all manufacturers of handgun ammunition offer a variety of 357 Magnum loads. It is a common choice for personal defense, and 357 revolvers have the advantage of handling less expensive and lighter-recoiling 38 Special loads for practice. As a hunting cartridge the 357 Magnum is probably the lightest cartridge that should be considered for deer-sized game. — Craig Boddington
