The Tactical Desert is definitely a long distance shooting rifle for the modern “Sniper” who loves competitions.

The barrel is threaded for a suppressors and comes with a removable muzzle brake and thread protector.

The Tactical Desert bolt-action rifle with three-lever match trigger is specifically designed for long distance shooting. The barrel is cold hammer forged from a billet of chrome molybdenum steel for enhanced grouping and features the new Multi-Radial Rifling System. Actions and locking bolts are machined from solid blocks of high resistance steel alloy and heat-treated for maximum strength and durability. The precision high resistance composite stock features a desert camouflage finish and comes with a butt pad and cheek piece system for complete adjustability. LOP is also adjustable through a system of stock inserts. The barrel, action and bolt feature the high resistance Cerakote finish in sand color for improved resistance and durability.

Designed by Bill Alexander in 2003, the 6.5 Grendel is based on the 7.62X39mm case necked down to take a 6.5mm bullet. Designed for the AR platform, the intent was a military cartridge that would provide greater knockdown power than the 5.56X45mm. As with the several other potential replacements for the 5.56X45, the 6.5 Grendel has not found favor with the military, but with a 123-grain .264-inch bullet at 2610 fps it has a following in the AR community as an accurate and effective medium-range hunting cartridge. Conversion of existing ARs to 6.5 Grendel is a simple matter of swithcing out an upper receiver. — Craig Boddington
