Specifically this enhanced carrier has fewer points of contact resulting in less surface area reducing friction. The bolt is made to a true mil-spec dimension and the external surfaces are CNC ground after heat treatment for a precise fit. You will notice that the bolts are held to very high standards including MPI and HPT testing. The bolt itself is made from 9310 case hardened steel with a black nitride finish. Additionally you will notice that the "Trumpet" area behind the gas rings, where carbon collects is precision CNC ground after heat treatment which keeps the area as smooth as possible and makes cleanup a breeze even after shooting suppressed.
