The buffer tube is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum which provides you with tighter concentricity versus other tubes. This is a crucial aspect of buffer tube construction because it reduces the potential for bolt carrier's to bind up which is a crucial failure point. Additionally the tube is designed to be compatible with Mil-Spec diameter buffer tubes which measure out to 1.148" diameter.
