Dark gray finish, matte stainless, detachable rotary magazine, short throw bolt, adjustable trigger, bolt-action -- SCOPE NOT INCLUDED
The X-Bolt Stainless stalker is anything but high maintenance. With a matte Stainless steel barrel and action, it will endure punishing weather and terrain and still give you the thoroughbred performance you can expect from a Browning rifle.
Accuracy abounds. Good looks and durability only mean something if your rifle has an equal level of accuracy. The X-Bolt platform has proven itself as capable of exceptional accuracy. In recent years this has caused it to be compared with the performance of custom rifles costing thousands more.
Stainless is the big difference. This attractive and weather-resistant bolt action rifle is similar to the X-Bolt Composite model, except for a Stainless steel receiver, barrel, and bolt. It has a comfortable palm swell for right-hand shooters, textured gripping surfaces for keeping your hands where they should be on the stock, even in wet and cold conditions. This model also features a deluxe Inflex Technology recoil pad and sling swivels. If you are looking for a hardcore bolt action rifle that you can rely on, in the rugged areas and inclement weather conditions hunting deer, elk, varmints and the like, the X-Bolt Stainless Stalker is your rifle. Today's Stainless Stalker's stock is rugged, durable and good looking with its matte deep gray (gray/black) finish.

The information below comes from our Gun Caliber Dictionary and is for
general reference only. It does not describe the specifications of this
particular item.
The 270 WSM (Winchester Short Magnum) was introduced in 2001 along with the 7mm WSM as the second and thirds members of Winchester's family of short magnums. It uses short (2.10-inch) case suitable for housing in a short bolt action, and with its short, fat .555-inch base diameter) unbelted case it is an accurate and efficient cartridge. With 130-grain bullets at 3300 feet per second and 150-grain bullets at 3150 it is faster than the 270 Winchester (and delivers more energy)...but but not quite as fast as the 270 Weatherby Magnum. Excellent for deer and mountain game and suitable for elk, it has a significant following and is probably the second-most popular of the several short magnums (after the 300 Winchester Short Magnum). Several manufacturers have chambered rifles, and ammunition is available from multiple sources. Gunwriter Craig Boddington has written that it is "the most useful of the new group of short magnum cartridges."
