The Ruger American Ranch offers minute-of-angle accuracy that can make every hunt a success. The ergonomic, lightweight synthetic stock designed for quick, easy handling blends a classic look with modern forend contouring and grip serrations with a soft rubber buttpad for maximum recoil reduction. The one-piece, three-lug bolt with 70 degree throw provides ample scope clearance and utilizes a full diameter bolt body and dual cocking cams for smooth, easy cycling from the shoulder. Patented Power Bedding, integral bedding block system positively locates the receiver and free-floats the barrel for while the Marksman Adjustable trigger offers a crisp release with a pull weight that is user adjustable between 3 and 5 pounds. Features a compact, cold hammer-forged, threaded barrel with factory installed Ruger Hybrid Muzzle Brake; visible, accessible and easy-to-actuate tang safety provides instant security and a factory-installed, one-piece Picatinny scope base. Includes one Single Stack magazine and sling swivel studs.

Designed by Bill Alexander in 2003, the 6.5 Grendel is based on the 7.62X39mm case necked down to take a 6.5mm bullet. Designed for the AR platform, the intent was a military cartridge that would provide greater knockdown power than the 5.56X45mm. As with the several other potential replacements for the 5.56X45, the 6.5 Grendel has not found favor with the military, but with a 123-grain .264-inch bullet at 2610 fps it has a following in the AR community as an accurate and effective medium-range hunting cartridge. Conversion of existing ARs to 6.5 Grendel is a simple matter of swithcing out an upper receiver. — Craig Boddington
