Product Summary

Rock Island Armory AL3.1 Revolver 357MAG 6RD 51MM Barrel Stainless Finish

The RIA CAL .357 magnum revolvers' design is molded to fit the requirements of citizens to take their personal defense seriously. The design of the cartridge cylinder mounted in the tilting console plus the shock transition control from the console all the way to the grame will maintain the firearm's minimum limits as much as possible. The cylinder rotation design also enables the cylinder to turn by the exact spacing distance, ensuringa safely adjusted barrel. Shooters are then guaranteed safety even if the cartridge is off the barrel, or if the cylinder are braked with impurities. The combination of a high output 357 magnum cartridge and the revolver makes up a reliable arms system, ready for any crisis situations. Drop safety and all-stell design guarantees a high level of safety when carried under any condition. This revolver is an ideal choice for sport shooters, and for personal defense.

Caliber Dictionary

The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
The 357 Magnum was introduced by Smith & Wesson in 1935 and initially chambered in their heavy-frame double-action revolver, the 357 was the first "magnum" handgun. Based on the 38 Special case lengthened to 1.29 inches, it was the world's most powerful handgun cartridge until the 44 Magnum. Offering considerably more power and penetration than the 38 Special, it was standard among many law enforcement agencies for decades. It is still widely manufactured in double- and single-action revolvers (and some rifles), available from virtually all revolver manufacturers; and all manufacturers of handgun ammunition offer a variety of 357 Magnum loads. It is a common choice for personal defense, and 357 revolvers have the advantage of handling less expensive and lighter-recoiling 38 Special loads for practice. As a hunting cartridge the 357 Magnum is probably the lightest cartridge that should be considered for deer-sized game. — Craig Boddington
