The next generation rifle from Sako is here. The S20 is a feature-rich modular rifle that can grow with you, as you switch from Hunting to Precision Shooting and back. The S20 Precision has a sculpted rear stock with an adjustable cheekpiece and recoil pad, allowing the shooter to adapt the S20 to the perfect fit. An accessory Monopod can be fitted for ultimate stability and the trigger can also be adjusted on the front and back by a total of 7mm to ensure perfect contact. The replaceable forend of the Precision has MLOK openings to allow the fitment of the optional Barricade Stop & other mountable accessories. The new receiver has a full-length bedding design for ultimate stability and reliability and houses a brand-new stainless steel, 3 lug bolt with over 75mm of contact area for the most engagement and safety. Another new feature is the picatinny rail machined into the top of the receiver, meaning more rigidity for the user. Engaging the safety on the S20 brings up a firing pin block, giving the user peace of mind in even the most rigorous conditions. The barrel of the S20 is a stainless-steel fluted design with a Cerakote finish for durability and great looks. The barrel incorporates a 5/8 x 24 Threaded crown with an included protection cap.

The 308 Winchester (7.62x51 NATO) was introduced by in 1952. Based on the T65 experimental military cartridge, Winchester essentially jumped the gun with the civilian introduction; the 7.62x51 wasn't officially adopted (or named) until 1954. The military's intent was to create a shorter cartridge that would fit into a lighter version of the M1 Garand. This was successful beyond their wildest dreams: The 308 Winchester is essentially a 30-06 case greatly shortened to 2.015-inch, but it lags only about 100 feet per second behind the 30-06 in velocity, and with it shorter, more efficient case it tends to be more accurate. The 308 is suitable for any hunting for which the 30-06 is suitable--which means almost anything in the world short of large, dangerous game. The 308 is a standard chambering among most manufacturers and is found in all action types. Factory loads are legion, including a wide selection of very accurate match loads. — Craig Boddington
