The Safari Classics line from CZ-USA features the CZ single set trigger system set up to your specifications gloss blue finish on metal parts, #1 Fancy grade American Walnut stock with dual crossbolts and straight comb, glass bedded to the individual action, and a barrel band sling mount.

This modern rifle brings new life to the .500 Jeffery cartridge. Hand loads can push a 600gr bullet over 2400 fps exceeding even the power of a .460 Weatherby.

I recently hunted elephant in Zimbabwe and used this caliber on two elephants. One head shot through very heavy brush the missed the brain but the elephant went down anyway and another elephant at 100 yards with a heart shot that knocked the 8,000 lbs beast off his feet.

The rifle has excellent express sights with build in scope base. But I recommend caution if you intend to use a scope. Be sure you have plenty of eye relieve and hold on tight.

The rifles chambered in .500 Jeffery include a mercury recoil reducer installed in the stock as well.

The 500 Jeffery was introduced in Germany as the 12.7X70mm Schuler in 1910. The British firm of W.J. Jeffery "Anglicized" it as the 500 Jeffery, which is what it was usually called. Propelling 535-grain .510-inch bullet at 2400 fps, it is one of the most powerful sporting cartridges, but with its rebated rim and 2.750-inch case it can be housed in a standard (375 H&H-length) bolt action. In its day the 500 Jeffery was actually a rare cartridge; it is believed that Jeffery made just 26 rifles in that chambering. Today, with new factory ammo and brass available, it is more common than ever--but probably more powerful than necessary for even the largest game. The most famous original 500 Jeffery rifle was probably Fletcher Jamieson's, figured heavily in John Taylor's "African Rifles and Cartridges."
