Always ensure the firearm is unloaded before starting any disassembly. Remove the magazine and visually and physically check the chamber to confirm it's empty.
Field Strip :
The Beretta 92 can be field-stripped without using tools. Lock the slide to the rear, rotate the takedown lever, and then release the slide.
Remove the Slide :
After field-stripping, you can remove the slide by pulling it forward and up.
Access the Centennial Lever :
Once the slide is removed, you may have access to the Centennial lever. Depending on the model, it may be part of the decocker or safety mechanism.
