We've all seen it happen: someone picks up a fine cartridge firearm, be it pistol, rifle or shotgun, and dry fires on an empty chamber. Too many of us have also seen the damage this sort of abuse can cause in broken firing pins or firing pin springs. That kind of damage can be easily avoided simply by slipping the correct snap cap, with its precise chamber dimensions and spring-loaded striker pad. Great for dry-firing practice to improve trigger control.
