Product Summary

Revolver Taurus M627 Tracker 357 Magnum 6.5" Ported Barrel 7 Round Matte Stainless Steel 2627069

The Taurus Tracker family includes a full range of calibers and sizes to perfectly suit any hunting adventure. These rugged, durable revolvers also make a practical choice for backpacks and tackle boxes, especially where there are bears and other predators around. Extremely comfortable to fire and easy to control - the Tracker Series continues to grow in popularity thanks to its high level of accuracy, rock-solid performance and near-indestructible construction.

Porting
Referred to as factory tuned porting and gas expansion chamber for recoil and makes shooting comfort a reality.

Ribber Grip
Exclusive Taurus ergonomic shock absorbing grip design provides a firm grip under virtually all shooting conditions.

Taurus Security System (TSS)rs
Taurus family of semi-auto pistols all feature the Taurus Security System, which provides instant-ready defense with built-in ability to secure your pistol and make it inoperable at the turn of a key. When the Security System is engaged, the pistol cannot be fired or cocked and the gun's manual safety cannot be disengaged. As with our revolver Security System, the device is part of the firearm and cannot be lost, and the same special Security Key works for both the revolver and pistol Systems (two keys come with each gun). To engage: simply insert the Key into the button on the rear or side of the pistol and rotate one-quarter turn clockwise. This engages the Security System. The manual safety cannot be moved and the trigger cannot be pulled. To disengage: simply rotate the key one-quarter turn back. This releases the Security System, yet leaves the pistol's manual safety in the "safe" position until you are ready to release it yourself and fire the gun.

7 Rd Cylinder Feature
Some Taurus models offer our 7-shot cylinder. A shot above the rest.

Transfer Bar
The transfer bar mechanism prevents the hammer from striking the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled fully to the rear.

Caliber Dictionary

The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition.
The 357 Magnum was introduced by Smith & Wesson in 1935 and initially chambered in their heavy-frame double-action revolver, the 357 was the first "magnum" handgun. Based on the 38 Special case lengthened to 1.29 inches, it was the world's most powerful handgun cartridge until the 44 Magnum. Offering considerably more power and penetration than the 38 Special, it was standard among many law enforcement agencies for decades. It is still widely manufactured in double- and single-action revolvers (and some rifles), available from virtually all revolver manufacturers; and all manufacturers of handgun ammunition offer a variety of 357 Magnum loads. It is a common choice for personal defense, and 357 revolvers have the advantage of handling less expensive and lighter-recoiling 38 Special loads for practice. As a hunting cartridge the 357 Magnum is probably the lightest cartridge that should be considered for deer-sized game. — Craig Boddington

"The M627 Tracker is a great all-around revolver. The ported barrel helps with recoil, and the 7-round capacity is a bonus. It’s well-balanced and easy to control, even with powerful .357 Magnum rounds. Highly recommend for any shooter."
