First time using my new Ruger No 1 in 257 Roberts. Normally I hunt over gunned because I don't like having to track wounded game in thick cover and then have to drag it out. I like the one and done rule. But I thought this was a cool caliber to try, it sure is pleasant shooting, light recoil and and about MOA with this ammo. I went out deer hunting for the first time this year today, took the 257 Roberts with Hornady 117gr SST. 10 minutes after sundown the biggest I have ever shot shows up on the edge of the green field. The Roberts hit him like a freight train and rolled him over. totally pulverized his shoulder and trauma extended to all vitals. I would say Hornady got it right.
Great ammo, in all calibers. Wholesale Hunter Product ordering and shipping top notch.
