DoubleTap Ammunition Bonded Defense, 9MM+P, 115Gr, Jacketed Hollow Point, 20 Round Box 9MM115BD Model: Bonded Defense Caliber: 9MM Grains: 115Gr Type: Jacketed Hollow Point Units Per Box: 20 Manufacturer: DoubleTap Ammunition Model: Bonded Defense Mfg Number: 9MM115BD
The DoubleTap Ammunition Bonded Defense 9mm+P 115gr Jacketed Hollow Point ammunition is designed for use in firearms chambered for 9mm Luger (9x19mm) cartridges. This ammunition is intended for self-defense purposes and is known for its effectiveness in stopping threats due to its jacketed hollow point (JHP) design.
Here are some key details about this ammunition :
Caliber: 9mm Luger (9x19mm)
Bullet Weight: 115 grains
Bullet Type: Jacketed Hollow Point (JHP)
Rounds Per Box: 20 rounds
Jacketed hollow point bullets are designed to expand upon impact, creating a larger wound channel and transferring energy more effectively to the target. This expansion helps to increase stopping power and reduce the risk of over-penetration, making JHP ammunition a popular choice for self-defense.
The "+P" designation indicates that this ammunition is loaded to higher pressure than standard 9mm ammunition, which can result in increased muzzle velocity and energy. It's important to ensure that your firearm is rated for +P ammunition before using it, as some older or smaller handguns may not be suitable for the increased pressure.
The information below comes from our Gun Caliber Dictionary and is for
general reference only. It does not describe the specifications of this
particular item.
The 9mm Luger (9X19mm, Parabellum, P08) was developed in Germany in 1902. Widely used in both world wars, it is the most popular pistol cartridge in the world, now widely used by innumerable law enforcement agencies and militaries (including our own) in both pistols and submachineguns. The controversy over its "stopping power" will never go away, but its attribute is that it is much easier to shoot accurately than larger cartridges with greater power...but more recoil. Advancements in bullet design for law enforcement and personal defense have narrowed the gap considerably. The 9mm Luger is a world standard, chambered by virtually all makers of semiautomatic pistols, with a myriad of factory loads. The most standard is probably a 115-grain load at 1160 fps, with common bullet weights ranging from 95 to 147 grains, and +P loads at higher velocity.
